The redevelopment of LeisureFit Booragoon focused on improving the community’s access to aquatic services within the City of Melville. dP(A) developed initial masterplan design options for the City, which included a new health and fitness suite, complete overhaul of aquatic spaces, carpark enhancements, upgraded storage and plant rooms, facade improvements, new landscape areas and public spaces, and modern changing facilities. Following the master planning phase, dP(A) completed the design, construction management, and superintendency for the refurbishment of the indoor pool hall and changing amenities. This multifaceted project involved integrating existing building elements with modernized amenities, refurbishing the 50m lap pool, 25m leisure and warm water pool, and adding new water play features. Key updates also included accessibility pool entry ramps, a full renovation of the pool hall, comprehensive upgrades to both wet and dry changing rooms (including new universal access facilities), and enhancements to pool plant systems.
