DP(A) offered architectural design services to the Shire of Leonora for the creation of an independent living village, catering to elderly residents and enabling them to secure suitable accommodation within their hometown, thus obviating the necessity for relocation. This design prioritises the integration of best practice ageing-in-place principles, ensuring residents can maintain their independence while accessing local and visiting support services. Comprising eight units with private courtyards, the facility also includes a community hall, communal gardens, and barbecue facilities. Currently under construction, the facility is anticipated to be fully operational by 2024.
